Lisa's testimony (given at her baptism service)

My name is Lisa, and to all that know me, know that I have always thought I was a believer. But I know you are all wondering why would I now want to be baptised?  What has changed? Well firstly, as I just stated I have always thought I was a believer but never really went regular to a church or chapel.  Over the last two years I have been a regular here at Calvary and have enjoyed hearing the Word of the Lord.  Then one Sunday evening, as our good friend Tim Wells was preaching which showed me what heaven is really like.  I knew something had changed and I knew that I had to do something about it if I wanted to be saved by the blood of Christ and have eternal life in heaven after my death.  It was as if a light went on in my head and I knew what path I had to take.  I had to cry out to the Lord and repent of my sins and believe in Him with all my heart and to live a Christian life.  For me, then came baptism. So I would say to you all here today, it is never too late to welcome the Lord into your life.  Look at me, 54 years old, just open your hearts and the Lord will find you, this I know.  John 3:16 says: ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.’ Amen
